'Mandibular Nerve Blocks, Part 1' is now Live!
By Abigail Pfeiffer on May 26, 2015 | commentsOne of the struggles that many dentists face are Mandibular Nerve Blocks and the Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block. In Spear’s latest course, Mandibular Nerve Blocks, Part 1, Dr. Stanley Malamed builds on his previous course, Understanding Dental Anesthesia. In this five lesson course, participants will learn about proper needle differentiation and what gauge of needle is best for these injections. Dr. Malamed reviews the Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block and offers trouble shooting tips and techniques, and also outlines the advantages and disadvantages to the IA Nerve Block. In addition to the Inferior Alveolar technique, Dr. Malamed introduces the Gow-Gates Mandibular Nerve Block as an alternative.
After viewing this course, the practitioner will:
- Understand rationale behind needle choice
- Review the goals of the Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block
- Understand the inherent short-comings resulting in failed blocks
- Understand the Gow-Gates Mandibular Nerve Block
